SOCIAL CIRCLE, Ga. – Join the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) for a weekend of learning with the new “Hook and Lean” program at Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center. This program runs from April 8-10 and is the first in a series of advanced hunter and aquatic education classes.

The “Hook and Learn” weekend is geared toward teaching children how to fish. This weekend long program focuses on hunting and fishing skills and conservation knowledge.

According to the DNR the weekend will teach your child “ishing techniques, how to clean your catch, how to tie knots, fly-fishing instructions, fish biology” and will take children fishing, of course.

The Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center is located in Mansfield, GA. Adults and children over 16 must possess a current fishing license and WMA license or they can purchase a 3-day fishing license. (See state regulations for more information at www.gofishgeorgia.com). Pre-registration is required. The deadline for registration is April 1.  To register, please call 770-784-3059.
