Woman killed while crossing street | News
COVINGTON, Ga. -- Authorities are investigating the death of a Covington woman who died after being struck by a pickup truck while crossing the street.
Benita O'Neal Marks, 57, was killed as she attempted to cross Highway 36 in Covington shortly before 7 p.m. Thursday.
Georgia State Patrol spokesman Gordy Wright said a 2007 Ford F150 driven by a Covington man was heading south when it struck Marks, who died at the scene.
No charges have been filed in the crash, which remains under investigation by the state patrol.
