Over 30 taken to hospital in Covington bus accident | News
NEWTON COUNTY, Ga. -- Over 30 students and the driver were transported to the Newton County Medical Center after a bus accident on Tuesday afternoon.
According to Newton County Schools, two buses rear-ended each other on Highway 162 near Rocky Plain Elementary shortly after dismissal.
About 30 students were transported to the medical center with minor aches and pains. However, one student and the bus driver were taken to the hospital by ambulance.
The uninjured students were taken back to Rocky Plain Elementary for pickup. Details of the wreck are unclear at this time.
Georgia State Patrol is investigating this incident.
