ATLANTA, GA -- Mark your calendars now for Georgia Forestry Day, a gathering of state business, civic, and environmental leaders, at 10:30 a.m. on  Wednesday, February 9, 2011 in the north lobby of the State Capitol when an unprecedented coalition of business, government and advocacy organizations will unveil Georgia’s first study of forest-related ecosystem services, conducted under the direction of Dr. Rebecca Moore at the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources at the University of Georgia. The findings will be eye-opening for policy-makers and their constituents alike.

As part of Georgia’s second largest industry, annually injecting $28.7 billion into the state’s economy, foresters, landowners and forest product manufacturers sustain this precious natural resource to continue to create economic opportunity throughout our state.
